Rose

Media: Clay

    My inspiration for this piece was the idea of love and life, how it's forever growing and changing. I wanted to choose a symbol that represented both of the ideals. A rose is a prime example of life, it grows from its roots and continuously changes. Along with love.

   To create this piece I took my slab of clay and moulded it into the shapes I needed to create my rose and its leaves. I added water throughout the moulding process to keep the clay moisture in the clay. Whenever I added to my sculpture, I slipped and scored each piece of each item to make sure it was secured.
